April Autism Walk for Autism Awareness was held on Thursday, April 2nd. Leading the walk was Principal for the Day, Amelia Buccheri, and Vice Principal for the Day, Addison Menne. Fifth graders are the Autism Avengers, who have given up their lunch recess time to make items to sell to raise money for autism research. Thus far over $1,000 has been donated. Teachers Ms. Jen Roncinske and Mr. Al Weisz have been organizing the activities and supervising the students.
Books for Breakfast is Tuesday, April 21 and Book Fair is Tuesday and Wednesday, April 21 and April 22.
Open House, featuring the fourth and fifth grade band, is Wednesday, April 22nd, at 7:30 p.m.. Students' artwork will also be on display throughout the school.
Celebrating Earth Day has been underway. Jefferson students: Jordan Somma, Alexandra LeSoine, and Amelia Buccheri won first place, second place, and third place, respectively, in the K-2 category at the 23rd Cel-Earth-Bration on Saturday, April 18th. An assembly on conserving our natural resources and protecting our environment was held at the school on April 17th.
